5 Pickleball Rules You Need to Know
Pickleball is a paddle sport that has been increasing in popularity in recent years. It is a fun, social game that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and skill levels. If you are new to the game, or are thinking about giving it a try, here are the five most important rules you need to know.
1. You Must Win Two Points
You must win by two points. This rule exists to prevent one player from having an advantage over the other from the start of the game.
2. The Serve Cannot bounce Twice
When serving, the Pickleball cannot bounce twice on your side of the court before being hit by your opponent. Doing so will result in a fault..
3. After the Serve, the Ball must bounce once
After your opponents hits the ball back following your serve, you must let the ball hit at least once. These touches can be made by either player on the same team, but once bounce happens, the ball must be returned.
4. There is No Volley Zone
In pickleball, there is no designated "volley zone" as there is in tennis. This means players can volley (hit the ball before it bounces) from anywhere on the court at any time during the game.
5. The Ball Cannot Be Hit Outside of the Court
If the ball goes outside of bounds or hits any part of the ground on your side of court, it is considered a fault and your opponents will receive a point. In order to keep play fair, it is important to be aware of where the boundaries are and not hit outside of them accidentally.
